Language Learning Mode

Language Learning Mode

A language learning mode is implemented in the game. This lets the player choose the language they want to learn, which the dialogue will show by default, but there is a button to hold to translate to your native language.

In the top image above, the text is in Spanish. In the bottom image, the TRANSLATE button is held down and the text appears in English.

How to Setup

  • Press P to pause (or go to the settings menu on the title screen)
  • Settings Menu
  • Dialogue Menu
  • Enable Language Learning Mode
  • Choose learning language
  • Choose native language

Languages

The languages were listed in the pop-up helper in the game, but something must have gotten messed up on the last edit. I'll have to look into that, but here are the languages available with their abbreviation:

  • EN - English
  • ES - Spanish
  • DE - German
  • RU - Russian
  • ZH - Simplified Chinese
  • PT - Portuguese
  • FR - France
  • IT - Italian
  • KO - Korean
  • JA - Japanese
  • PL - Polish

Note: Please make any additional language requests!

Machine Translated

The dialogue is machine-translated. I am aware this usually isn't advisable and I am not trying to hide it.

I am not fluent in multiple languages, so I cannot even verify how accurate any of the translations are. So please give me feedback on this!

My thoughts are, machine-translated is better than nothing! This is a free game, so no budget to hire any native translators. Maybe in future games (with this implemented) that are commercial, it could be possible to hire translators.
