What is the secret word?
What is the Secret Word?
I wanted to make a quick post in case anyone is curious about what this is, or even stressing out about trying to think of a secret passphrase to unlock something, or any other crazy places the mind can lead to.
Basically, it is a voluntary way for a player to identify themselves, without capturing some kind of identifiable information - like email or real name.
There is no current purpose for this but here are a couple of scenarios I thought of when deciding to add this:
- I decide to run some kind of contest where top scores get a prize or just some recognition. If you say, hey I'm "Jin" - I got the highest score - I can say "what's your secret word" to verify that. (PS - I know who Jin is)
- Multiple people use the same name - like lets say there are 20 people using the name "Dave" - and someone pings me asking if they know which score was theirs, I can identify them by their secret word.
So really it is no big deal. I would say write it down so you remember, but I doubt you will ever need it. Just the word you are most likely to guess if you forget lol. Don't put your password or some other actual secret info!
Anyway, just wanted to share what this is for to quench your curiosity and avoid any conspiracy theories!

Thx for clarification... I was actually thinking this is exactly for the purpose of idetifying players with same nicks. I am using something similar in one of my projects to make sure that some names will be used by people I want :)
