Working on more!
Hello everyone!
First of all, I want to thank everyone that followed me on itch or posted a comment on the game. I am more motivated than ever now to keep this going!
Even those that just checked it out: thank you! The itch analytics showed that the game got above 2000 views in just over 2 weeks. Bigger numbers than I ever expected.
What's Next?
So if you only played here on Itch you may notice that it says "Level 2" on the description. Level 1 is up on LouBagel.com but I didn't want to post it here because it wasn't a good level to start with. A bit too difficult to start off with and not friendly in letting the player get accustomed to their surroundings.
So instead of working on a so-called Level 3 which would come directly after Level 2, I am going to work on combining Level 1 and Level 2 into one continuous gameplay. In doing this I will essentially be adding a "level" for each character, which there are six of. So level 2 that you played will basically turn into level 6 and level 1 will probably turn into level 3. But there won't be a hard break in the game. It will be more of a little achievement and then the elevator dings and a new worker comes in that you control.
I'm working on that right now, working out any bugs on creating new workers (in the elevator) and switching between controlling them:
The new level 1 and 2 should be fairly simple almost like tutorial levels. Just a few basic tasks to ensure the player understands the controls, how to interact with objects, and gets a feel for the layout of the office.
The other two new "levels" for Glen and Emmanuel I have the general idea for the story to initiate the level and a few concepts for the gameplay to take place. But I'm not sure how difficult, complicated, and lengthy I want them to be. I will probably just see what additional ideas come up as developing and testing.
Want to see more or get more involved?
Since what I have uploaded right now is a working level (okay, maybe a few bugs have been found) I probably won't upload anything else to itch until I get the new version completed and tested. I may make a few posts in the dev log now and then, but probably not frequently so if you want to see more updates I have two recommendations for you. (I went through a phase getting on all social medias and every website I could, but can't keep up activity everywhere).
You can follow me on Twitter to see more WIP GIFs: https://twitter.com/LouBagelCombo5
I'm most active on Twitter and try to post a screenshot/GIF if I am working on something. I also am more responsive there, especially when poking fun at something 8-)
I created a Facebook group for testing and feedback you can request to join: https://www.facebook.com/groups/141727976601462/?source_id=447295435621874
I don't post frequently here. Usually only when I have uploaded a level or something that can be tested out and looking for people to try and give some feedback. If you join, feel free to be honest with your feedback as that is what it is for—not a group to promote my game. Small group right now of just a few friends but I'll accept your request if interested in trying things out before the masses.
Thanks again for following me or your interest in this game! I always thought in the back of my mind that this was a pipe dream but now I'm thinking maybe it is the beginning of something (fingers crossed!)
